Visit any tier 1 bank closest to you to receive transferred money. Here are the requirements you would need to provide:

  • Transfer reference number (the 8-digit reference number sent to you by the sender)
  • Expected amount sent to you
  • Government acceptable means of identification such as international passport, driver’s license, permanent voter’s card and national identity card
  • Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • Sender’s name and country (note: the city should be included for transfers coming from the US)
  • Test question and answer (optional)
  • Fully completed form
  • Transfer is completed and you can receive the money in person

Receiving Moneygram via your Bank Account

  • You as the receiver will provide the necessary information to the sender which are:
  • Account Name (First name and surname as appeared in your account)
  • Account number (the 10 digit NUBAN account number)
  • Bank name
  • The sender in the account deposit enabled country is required to complete a send form showing account deposit option and providing the details as you have given him/her.
  • When transfer is completed. The sender will be notified from the Moneygram system if it was transaction was made or not. Transfer to Nigeria is usually concluded in minutes.

NOTE: Before receiving money via your bank account, inquire if your bank allows such transfer. The exact amount given to the beneficiary would be equivalent to the locked-in exchange rates obtainable in the country. The service is not available to anyone under 18 years.
Also, the maximum receive amount for Nigeria is 1,000,000.00 NGN.
