Japanese Yen
The Japanese Yen is the currency of Japan. The currency sign is ¥ while the code is JPY or JP¥. It is the third most traded currency in the foreign exchange market after top currencies like the US dollar and the Euro. It is also recognized as one the world’s widely used reserve currency.
The Japanese Government has aided the increase in the value of Yen over the years. Since World War II, THE Yen lost value and in 1971, the exchange rate to the US Dollar at a rate of 308 JPY to 1 USD was fixed. To avoid imminent inflation, a zero policy to a near-zero interest rates has been maintained by the Bank of Japan till date. The most common Japan Yen exchange is the JPY to EUR rate.
